Dear List-members

We have some data where one of the factors is bi-polar (Factor 2 has four e=
xemplars, two of which are negative loadings).

I presume from this that the factor arrays for each pole need to be calcula=
ted separately - otherwise the array won't make sense for that factor.

Having searched the archive I found that Stephen has provided a method for =
doing this last year, but I can't make this work: The method was as follows=
:

"Do this by entering the QROT option (F5) within PQMethod.  Then press F8 t=
o get out of the file, whereupon you will be prompted to designate which fa=
ctors are to be retained.  Let's assume that are three factors (1, 2, and 3=
) and that factor 1 is the bipolar factor.  When asked which factors to be =
retained, enter 1 1 2 3 (with spaces between); i.e., indicate that you will=
 to retain factor 1 twice.  Then press F9 to get out of the QROT phase.  Th=
en get right back into QROT (option F5) where you will now see that you hav=
e four factors: 1, 2, 3, and 4, where factor 2 is now a duplicate of factor=
 1.  Then select the factor reflection option (is it F5?) and reflect facto=
r 2: This will cause all factor loadings to be reversed for this factor, wh=
ich will cause factor 2 now to be the reverse of factor 1.  Then go into al=
l of the factors and select those Q sorts for flagging; then exit QROT (F9)=
. "

When I have tried this using the new QROT program (i.e. when PQMehtod switc=
hes to full screen) I am asked for the number of factors, not for the facto=
r numbers. If I don't use the new QROT program it appears you can only choo=
se two factors at a time - what am I doing wrong?
