Michael,
I'm currently answering the question "What professional development
techniques have resulted in the adoption of the use of technology in the
classroom by college of education faculty?" in my dissertation. Since
technology use in the classroom is not mandatory, adoption depends heavily
on self-motivation and beliefs. In the study, I focus on past history of
tech usage, overcoming obstacles, and what techniques lead to learning about
new technologies. In addition to the q-sort analysis, I've provided online
short (1-3 minutes) video interviews of 24 faculty members discussing the
various techniques that appeal to them.
