Subject: Visual Communication
Hello everyone.
Up to this point I have been doing a lot of reading but very little
participating in this forum's discussions. Since I have just finished my
graduate course work, and am now beginning my journey into writing my thesis,
I am hoping to find some suggestions relating to my particular interests.
Although my specific "topic" or research question has not yet been chosen, I
will be writing my thesis in the area of visual communication. I have
researched the numerous avenues of this area and have fixated my interest on
the kind of visual communication that occurs (individually, interpersonal,
small group, and publicly) while creating art or scribbling. It is an area
that is also known as visual thinking. It is a different type of visual
communication than the popular advertising and persuasion genres - which are
currently dominating the research in the communication discipline. It has
more to do with art theories and psychology.
Can anyone help me with the following?
-resources
-current issues
-contacts
-useful methodologies (interdisciplinary)
-journal articles and essays
Please email any suggestions to me at: Lawneee@aol.com
Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
