The Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Texas invites applications for one tenure-track position and two lecturer positions beginning Fall 2005.

Assistant Professor, Rhetorical Studies.  Faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct research, and direct graduate research.  Research and teaching areas might include, but are not limited to: public discourse, cultural studies, rhetorical movements, theory and criticism, and other courses reflecting the individual's interests.  The faculty member also will be expected to teach the classical argument course in the university honors program. Applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. (or have significant progress toward the completion of the dissertation and have completed all Ph.D. requirements by August 1, 2005).  Applicants should provide evidence of successful university teaching, a record of publication and/or scholarly involvement commensurate with level of professional experience, and be willing to engage in departmental, college, and university service activities.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Lecturer, Rhetorical Studies.  Lecturer will receive a nine-month appointment with a 3/3 teaching load of undergraduate and graduate courses in rhetorical studies.  The ideal candidate will be prepared to teach rhetorical theory, rhetorical criticism, and argumentation.  Other teaching areas might include political communication, persuasion, and/or areas reflecting the individual's research interests.  Minimum requirements:  ABD in Communication Studies with an emphasis in rhetorical studies; two years college teaching experience (graduate TA experience acceptable).

Lecturer, Performance Studies.  Lecturer will receive a nine-month appointment with a 3/3 teaching load of undergraduate and graduate courses in performance studies.  In addition to coordinating a multiple-section introductory performance course, the ideal candidate will be prepared to teach a survey course in performance studies, performance theory, and courses that reflect his/her research and teaching interests.  Minimum requirements:  ABD in Communication Studies with an emphasis in performance studies; two years college teaching experience (graduate TA experience acceptable).

Oakland University invites applications for a tenure -track assistant professor in Interpersonal Communication to begin August 5, 2005.  Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Communication with in an emphasis in quantitative methodology.  Teaching experience is expected in the following areas: Interpersonal Communication, Communication Theory and the candidate's area of specialization.
