There is an extended deadline for abstracts for the following conference. F=

CONFERENCE ON LAUGHTER AND HUMOUR IN INTERACTION



24th and 25th June 2009                Huddersfield University, Huddersfi=
eld, UK



Plenary speaker: Phillip Glenn, author of "Laughter in Interaction", Camb=
ridge University Press, 2003.



Paul Drew will be holding a data session focusing on laughter in conversa=
tion.



Abstracts are invited for contributions to a two day conference on laught=
er and devices related to humour in interaction (e.g. storytelling, teases,=
 irony, puns, reported speech). Abstracts should summarise completed resear=
ch using conversation analysis to investigate phenomena related to this the=
me. Papers will be 20 minutes in length with 10 minutes for questions.



Abstracts should be no more than 500 words in length and should be sent t=
o the following email address by the 16th January 2009. Notification of suc=
cessful contributions will be sent out in Feburary 2009.
