In some cases a question or request for help may fall outside the range of expertise of the consulting group. In other cases CIOS member consultants may refer you to other sources, may provide comment or opinion, or may forward your question to one of the CIOS/Comserve hotlines to be answered there. Be aware, however, that no guarantee of service is provided; clinic consultants are not paid staff or CIOS representatives and may respond or not as they wish.
Individuals may also use the clinic to seek other kinds of assistance that may require contracting with a CIOS member consultant for services. For example, those seeking assistance in the areas of media policy, organizational dynamics, human interface design, expert testimony, marketing, research design, television analysis, public opinion measurement, statistical analysis, speech writing, public relations, advertising, or similar communication-related concerns may use the Communication Clinic to locate individuals to serve as paid consultants.
Users of the Communication Clinic should be aware that the CIOS makes no guarantee of service or quality and does not certify clinic consultants. The CIOS will not be held liable for any consequences resulting from this service and will not be a party to any contractual or economic relationship that initiates through the Communication Clinic.
