A cooperative effort of the Religious Communication Association and the Communication Institute for Online Scholarship has resulted in the launch this week of an online fulltext archive of back issues of the Journal of Communication and Religion (JCR) extending from Volume 1, 1978 through Volume 21(2), 1998. The articles are available in a new scanned format that downloads extremely quickly and can be read page-by-page in a standard web browser. As well JCR article abstracts have been incorporated in the CIOS ComAbstracts database and all JCR articles are now indexed within the CIOS's ComIndex database and its web counterpart. JCR articles now rank among the most accessible in the field.
